Christmas Eve
It's hard to know how far to go at Christmas - as a church, I mean. We have a big, hulking, granite, neo-gothic building as centrepiece of our .9 of an acre precinct. Read more.

Star-studded Christmas lunch

Members of Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club were the attendants at a slap-up lunch in the church for 100 drop-in centre visitors last Friday. Thank you to Storm and also to the Open House workers and parishioners who brought it all together and left the church in pristine condition afterwards.
We are also grateful to local traders who shared their goods and services with our guests:
IGA, Albert Park
The Village Grocer, Middle Park
Jock's Ice Cream, Albert Park
The Albert Park Fruit Palace
Café Zappa, South Melbourne
Chimmeys bakery, South Melbourne

Reminder - Reconciliation and gathering

Join other parishioners for a pre-Christmas drink after the penitential rite that begins at 7.30 pm next Tuesday. Please add your name to the list at the back of the church so that the hospitality team can organise catering.

Richard Marsland

Fr Maguire emailed Peter Harvie CEO of Triple/Fox who operates from Clarendon Street now, to offer our Church for staff and listeners to pray and spare a thought for Richard Marsland. Peter replied with gratitude.

Over 60's Christmas party

Last Tuesday's party was a wonderful event due to efforts of some very special people: starting with the parishioners who helped to set up the hall on Monday evening; to the cooks and their assistants; and to the waiters in their bow ties. As one diner said, 'the lunch and afternoon was full of love.
Thank you too to our entertainers: Mario and Christina for their singing and the Golden Tappers for their dancing.
Thanks to our guests who made it all worthwhile.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Frank O'Connor who was elected to the Port Phillip Council and many thanks to Peter Logan and his wife, Joan, for all the work they have done for the community over many, many years.

Open House Christmas party

This weekend is your last chance to put some cash towards the Open House Christmas lunch. Anything you contribute will help give our visitors a slap-up treat. We would also appreciate help in setting up for the lunch on the morning of the party (next Friday, 12 December). Come to the church at 9 am. Please let Margaret (9699 3896) know if you will be in the work party.

Christmas working bee

On Saturday, 13 December from 10.30 to 12.30 there will be a working bee to prepare the Church for Christmas.
There's plenty to do: clean the brass, altars, windows and in front of the church; dust and polish seats and skirting boards; wash marble floors; clean the kitchen,
Please bring mops, buckets, dusters, etc. Cleaning liquids will be provided.
We need as many helpers as possible. If you can give a hand please leave your name on the sheet at the back of the Church.

Wine and cheese

The hospitality team invites all parishioners to come and enjoy a pre-Christmas drink together at the back of the church after the Penitential rite, which begins at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, 16 December.
