Parish House

Home visits

Sr Joyce Stewart FCJ and Maurie Smith) are parish visitors, calling on the very frail and the sick and taking communion to them. They do not forget parishioners who have moved out of the area to nursing homes and hostels, taking them communion and keeping them up with the news of their old parish. Please phone us on 9696 4644 if you want communion brought to you.

For further information on the parish of Sts Peter and Paul's, please call the parish house - 96960644.

Free meals

A free barbecue is offered every Friday and on the first Sunday of the month to anyone who wants to enjoy some company and a sizzled snag and a cup of tea. We also host Wednesday breakfasts at 10 am and Monday and Tuesday tea at 5 pm. Providing these services, of course, means the need for more resources. Emerald Hill Misssion doesn't automatically find more money to cope just because a new need has been identified. But we hope to continue all these and are keen to hear suggestions of other ways we can help the local community.

Prison visits

A roster of parishioners visits prisoners in the Melbourne Assessment Centre. They are there to let the prisoners they haven't been forgotten, to contact family with messages or even provide small necessities, eg a change of socks.

Gamblers Anonymous

Gamblers Anonymous also operates from behind the parish house. It is open seven days a week offering counselling to anyone who has a gambling problem. They can be contacted on 9696 6108 between 9 am and 7 pm.
