Sts. Peter and Paul’s is a vibrant Catholic parish taking in South Melbourne, Southbank and the eastern edge of Albert Park . Our faith community is welcoming to all, and is nourished by the Sacraments, Scripture, music and celebrations grounded in the Catholic spirit of Vatican II.

The Parish which was established by the Capuchin Fr. John Aloysius O'Connell in 1854 was in February 2012, entrusted to the same Order, Capuchin Friars Minor. Together with the parishioners they are committed to; bringing  healing, justice and hope to each other and to the community at-large.

If you are looking for a Catholic Community to join, give Sts Peter and Paul’s a try. We anticipate that you find our parish to be warm and welcoming. Strike up a conversation with any of the Friars, parish member or greeter and they will try to answer questions you may have.

If you are a visitor to the area, you are most welcome to join us for our liturgies, many concerts and other events. We hope that the space we share, our prayer and music will lift the hearts of any traveller.

Sts. Peter and Paul’s has a strong Social Ministry emphasis. We believe that as disciples of Christ, it is our mission to be a sign of God's love to the world by serving the disadvantaged the marginalised and the vulnerable. Through “Open House”, and a variety of other services partnered with other South Melbourne (Port Phillip area) organisations and agencies we strive to be advocates for social justice and instruments of hope and love.
